PLEASE NOTE! The tax extension you may have heard about recently is an income tax extension, not a property tax extension. The March 2021 property tax installment is still due by Wednesday, March 31, 2021. We encourage customers to take advantage of the payment options outside of coming into the office. These options include mailing your payment, depositing your payment in the drop box in the courthouse parking lot, paying online or over the phone. If you have any questions, please call our office at 319-462-3550.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Jones County Treasurer's Office will be closed for the remainder of this week due to a possible Covid-19 exposure. If you have a driver's license appointment with us, we will be in touch tomorrow to reschedule your appointment. Thank you for your understanding.
** REMINDER ** If you would like to register the boat or off-highway vehicle you are thinking about buying on FB marketplace, you will need a registration and/...or title and a bill of sale. If the seller tells you there isn’t one, please contact your local county recorder to check the HIN or VIN. See more
The Jones County Treasurer's Office is open by appointment only. In order to continue providing a safe environment to conduct business, it is crucial that we minimize the number of customers in the courthouse. To do this, we are STRONGLY encouraging customers to renew their vehicles and pay their property taxes through the mail, through the drop box, online, or over the phone. If you would like a receipt for your property taxes, please include a self addressed stamped envelope with your payment. Please feel free to call our office at 319-462-3550 if you have any questions or to make an appointment.

PLEASE NOTE, in order to help us minimize the number of people in the courthouse and help us maintain social distancing, we are asking you to mail your payment, deposit it in the drop box in the courthouse parking lot, pay it online, or over the phone. Thank you in advance for helping us maintain a healthy environment for both our customers and our staff!
One year ago today we lost a member of our work family. Shelli was such a beautiful person inside and out and we miss her dearly every day. We had been planning a special memorial for today but unfortunately due to Covid it will need to wait a little longer. We will never forget Shelli and we are grateful for the many positive ways she touched each and every one of us.
