We have some really EXCITING news for our patients!!! We are adding a wonderful new team member to the practice in August 2021. The soon-to-be- Dr. Jackie will work alongside Dr. Mindy and Dr. Peterson to provide you the top-notch dental care you've grown to expect from our team. Jackie grew up in Palatine, IL, but moved to Cedar Rapids, IA at 13. Jackie became an avid runner and swimmer. In high school, Jackie enjoyed the health sciences and knew something in the medical fi...eld was for her. It didn’t take her long to narrow it down to two potential career choices: veterinarian or dentist. Ultimately, she knew she was too much of an animal lover and would end up with a zoo if she went that route, and genuinely loves forming relationships and helping people. She found after shadowing numerous offices in high school that this allowed her to not only relieve people of pain, give back to her community, and work with her hands, but also form those connections with patients that she values and cannot wait to continue to form. Following high school graduation from Washington High School in 2013, Jackie went to Luther college to study pre-dental as well as to swim for the team. After a successful career in swimming, a Biology and Liberal Arts degree with a chemistry minor, Jackie graduated from Luther in 2017 and moved to Iowa City to follow her dreams of becoming a dentist at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She is looking forward to graduating dental school with her DDS, getting married, and moving to the Quad cities all in June! When Jackie and her fiancé Stephen have free time - which is not often since both are in graduate school - they enjoy walking and playing with their two Australian Shepherds, Bleau and Hazel. Right now wedding planning is taking up a bulk of their free time! Stephen is currently in his third trimester of chiropractic school at Palmer. Even with their busy schedules, Sunday’s are set aside in their household to cheer on the Green Bay Packers with Jackie’s parents, who also live in Davenport - Go Pack! Jackie is looking forward to learning about frenectomies further under Dr. Mindy as well as practice general dentistry. She is excited to help the community as well as to foster relationships with her future patients alongside Dr. Peterson and Dr. Hochgesang. She cannot wait to meet you!
