We have a new exhibit! The Kaela's Picks Exhibit is a set of objects that our intern, Kaela, found interesting. Here is what Kaela says: Hello! My name is Kaela Horan and I am the summer intern here at the Sanford Museum. When I started my internship, I was told that I would have to design an exhibit and I had so many different thoughts and themes going through my mind on what to curate. Through time, I found so many interesting artifacts in the collection and archive that I just wanted everyone to know about. The Kaela’s Picks Exhibit contains both local and global items that will amuse you and show just how much of a diverse collection the museum has.

Join the Cherokee Public Library and the Sanford Museum and Planetarium this Wednesday for some colorful rainbow science! We'll be waiting for you at Gillette Park at 2pm!

We are excited to welcome Kaela as our summer Tiel Sanford Legacy Internship recipient! Kaela is an approaching senior at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. She is double majoring in Spanish and history/anthropology with a minor in Chinese. Kaela's goal is to work internationally as a career. This summer she will be accessioning artifacts from the Old White Mill and Fountain House which were recovered during survey work from last year as well as assisting with exhibit set up for our new archaeology exhibit. One fun fact about Kaela is she also is a competitive dancer!

The museum will be closed on Sunday, July 4th and Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day.
