Handgun Safety / Permit to Carry Training Course Iowa and Minnesota Permit to Carry Training, Sunday May 23rd, 2021, from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Location: Best Western Hotel, 2023 7th Ave N. Clear Lake, Iowa 50428. This course certifies you for both the Iowa and Minnesota permit. If you do not want the Minnesota permit option, no problem, you can choose the Iowa option. The Iowa permit allows carry in 34 states, the Iowa and Minnesota combination allows carry in 36 states. (Min...nesota no longer accepts the non-resident Utah permit.) Our permit to carry course is designed to teach you firearms safety, safe gun handling and manipulation, proper firearms shooting fundamentals, levels of awareness, Iowa and Minnesota law, including the use of force, and much more. Cost: Iowa only: $60.00 Minnesota only: $80.00 Best Deal: Iowa and Minnesota together: $80.00 *The Minnesota permit course requires a live-fire range qualification per Minnesota State requirements. The live-fire safety shooting course requires 15 rounds (if you do not have a firearm, let me know, and we will make arrangements for you). Defensive Handgun level 1, live fire training. Date: 05/22/21, Clear Lake, Iowa. 8:00 am to 12:15pm Defensive handgun 1 is designed to help you develop good defensive handgun skills, firearms knowledge, and the proper attitude necessary to carry a defensive handgun with confidence.... This course emphasizes proper gun-handling, shooting fundamentals, marksmanship are covered in lecture while the practical aspects are taught on the range. Other course topics include, help with equipment selection, proper handling, loading, unloading, proper drawing and firing from the holster with and without concealing the firearm, building the grip, single handed firing, basic movement, reload and malfunction drills and skills. COURSE HOURS: 8:00 am to 12:15pm COURSE FEES: $80.00 COURSE REQUIREMENTS 225 rounds Eye and ear protection. Proper holster for your firearm 2 or 3 magazines or speed reloaders for revolvers. Students can use a magazine pouch or use pant pockets for extra mags. A good supportive belt. No shoulder holsters or small of the back holsters.
