We want to take a minute to brag on these beautiful souls from Capital City Pride. Jen (right) and Hillary (left) shared with me they are the first women to hold the office of President (Jen) and Vice President (Hillary) at CCP, and we think like that deserves some recognition. When we met with Jen about partnering and sponsoring the Material Girl & The Fame Monster show, she joked and said "I'm usually the one sitting in your seat asking for money!" We love this, because ...when two non-profit entities come together, magic happens. In 2020 "cancel" has been the buzz word of the year, but the Revive the Live fall series allowed groups like CCP to turn cancel into "let's get creative!" We're so glad we had the opportunity to create new experiences with you! Last night's Revive the Live'rs REALLY kicked it up a notch. We saw at least 3 pods serving up chili, and this group right here didn't mess around with disposable bowls. To everyone who joined us this past weekend or came out and supported our drive-in concert series, thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Not only did you help keep live music alive in Iowa, you helped to support dozens of musicians and crew members, allowing them to continue putting food on the table for their families over the past few months. When we set out on this little endeavor, we had no idea what to expect, but what we found was a community of music-lov...ing friends who showed up in a big way. We loved hearing your stories, celebrating your milestones, and creating new memories with you. It's so strange to say this, but this is one endeavor we hope won't continue into 2021! We are counting down the days until we can stand shoulder to shoulder with you, singing the lyrics to our favorite songs at the top of our lungs, and HUGGING. Lots and lots of hugging. Until that day, we will continue to hold these drive-in memories close to our hearts.
