In March of 1930, a young man stood before the McLennan County Court convicted of theft and concealing stolen property. He had stolen a car belonging to Willia...m Cameron, a member of Waco Masonic Lodge. The judge was also a member of our lodge and sentenced the young man to 14 years of jail time but his sweetheart snuck into Waco's jailhouse and slipped him a pistol which he used to escape. So began the tandem crime spree of history's most famous criminal couple, Bonnie and Clyde. It also ended with another freemason, Texas Ranger Frank Hamer led the mission to track down the daring duo and killed them.
