The Marshalltown Water Works plans to flush the fire hydrants in town starting Tuesday, March 23, 2021, weather permitting. The flushing will begin in the north part of the town and proceed to the south end of town. This year’s flushing program should take approximately two to three weeks. The purpose of the flushing program is to keep the water mains clean and to check all fire hydrants for proper operation. Residents may notice temporary discoloration of their water. If you notice any discoloration, running cold water for about five minutes should remove the discolored water from the pipes. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation!
