I would like to talk a little bit about the cost of our artisan bread. Our loaf weighs a little over 1 pound and the cost is $15. Ouch, I know. I have been calculating my cost over and over because I don’t feel good at all having to charge this much for it however, as of right now there is no way around it. Artisan bread require lots of dough which means lots of flour and for the ones who have been following us for a bit knows that most of my ingredients come from Italy. I a...m trying to cut my cost so I can turn that saving back to you, just not an option right now. I remember before starting this business I would see Shar Sourdough bread at Hyvee for sale at $6 for 4 slices and I was in shock. Let’s just say now I understand.
