Monday, March 16, 2020 Linn’s Funeral Home is committed to the safety and well-being of our guests, community, and staff. We are, and will continue to monitor, the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak by following closely the guidelines/recommendations set forth by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, National Funeral Director’s Association, Iowa Funeral Director’s Association, Iowa Department of Public Health, Hardin County of Public Health, Hardin County Emergency Man...agement, and the City of Iowa Falls. We are here to serve as always and will be implementing the guidance set forth by the CDC and Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for businesses, visitations and funerals. Our current guidance as of 4:00 pm on March 15, 2020 is to keep funeral type events 50 or under. We have talked with leadership at the Iowa Falls City level also, to confirm this recommendation. Please note that this is a very fluid information, and as of the writing of this letter, we have found no less than three different guidelines but we feel comfortable with 50 or less at this times as still suggested by the CDC. What we are doing: We are doubling up on our sanitation efforts in our facilities and all aspects of our operations. We are keeping hand sanitizer and antibacterial soap readily available. We can make arrangements by phone (or even e-mail or text) if that makes you more comfortable . We are continuing with traditional and memorial services At this time we are asking those who are sick to refrain from attending arrangement conferences, visitations and funerals. Please understand that we are practicing social distancing and not offering handshakes, hugs, or other gestures of consolation. We ask that those in attendance for services remember direct eye contact, loving words, and a warm smile are as meaningful to the family as a traditional handshake or hug. We are suggesting that you keep it to immediate family and very close friends for funerals, visitation, and services held. The 50 person limit applies to at one time, so you may bring in more over a longer period of time, but this goes against the isolation guidelines. Please note we are available for both at-need arrangement, prearrangement, and monument sales both in person or telephone inquires. Technology can help everyone in this day and age. Another note is that your loved ones are considered safe to be around, but we will be suggesting a clear area around public services close to the casket, that we will set up for you, especially in any confirmed cases. With all the stress everyone is having from this Corona virus, we decided to join in the bear hunt! Better read to the end of this one, we have a surprise! We want others to work for it!) the three bears/animals, along with your lucky number from 1-100... We will use a random number generator to pick a number; and for up to five families will buy all the kids in th...ose families blizzards! We called Dairy Queen asking the best way to get coupons for these blizzards, and they didn’t even pause when they said they would donate the blizzards themselves! However, we are going to split it with them, we want to see kids smiling too! From a safe distance and take out only of course!! So remember, private message what three bears or animals (hint) are in our windows... along with your favorite number!
