At Exceptional Dentistry, we are LUCKY to serve both our new and long-term patients. One year ago today we closed for 9 weeks due to the pandemic. Since reopening we have been following CDC and Iowa Dental Board guidelines to deliver dental care with an abundance of caution. This week we celebrate IBCLC Day! IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. They are certified healthcare professionals trained in the clinical management of breastfeeding. They work closely to support moms and babies in a variety of situations. We are thankful in the Dubuque and Tri-State area to have 4 incredible IBCLCs: Amy and Tara at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, Laura at UnityPoint Health - Dubuque and Becky at Statera: Integrated Health ...and Wellness Solutions. Their work truly makes an important impact on the health of so many moms and babies! Dr. Kristen Berning works with all of these IBCLCs in the management of tongue-tied babies. Give Kids a Smile is an annual event that we participate in by donating dental services to children in need from our community. This year we donated $2,008 in free dental care to 3 wonderful kids. This year it means more than ever to pay it forward. #GiveKidsASmile #GiveBack #PayItForward #GKAS
