Did you know Lucas County Extension built a donation garden on the fairgrounds through the Growing Together Iowa program? All produce grown in the garden will b...e donated to the Ministry Center Food Pantry located at 410 South 7th Street in Chariton. Yesterday we made our first donation of radishes, spinach, and kale! We are looking forward to donating many more vegetables this summer and for years to come! If you are interested in volunteering in the garden, please reach out to Logan at [email protected] or 641-774-2016. Volunteer duties would include picking, weighing, and delivering produce; as well as watering, weeding, and general upkeep.
