Room for All

Not only are pronouns important, but so are terms of endearment! This is a fun exercise to complete- what are the terms appropriate for you? Maybe it's fluid and will change later, maybe it's always been the same. Executive director Cameron filled out the card here (there's a blank one in the comments if you want to do your own!)

Whether today is a day in which you celebrate, mourn, long, or just mark as another Sunday on the calendar: we see you. We’re particularly mindful of the queer dads, the dads who are doing it differently, who society questions or is confused by. The trans dads with bodies of all kinds, the bi and enby dads showing up in unexpected and wholly ways. The chosen dads and the dads in the process of becoming dad. We’re wishing a happy Canada Day to all our friends up north. As the country continues to grapple with the results of historic racism and genocide of indigenous people, dealing with the ongoing Covid pandemic, and effects of climate change affecting some of the most vulnerable across the provinces, we wish for a day of seeking justice, righting wrongs, and working for a Canada that is better tomorrow than it was yesterday.

Pride month may be over, but the lessons we learn and the advocacy we do together never ends!

Wishing a happy Independence Day to our friends across the States! Today, as we commemorate the freedom of White land-owing men from the tyranny of British colonial rule, may we continue to seek out justice for those still living in tyranny and oppression in this country and around the world!
