We at OLSON EYE CARE are looking for someone to join our team who enjoys working with people, has a friendly outgoing personality, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a significant interest in the medical optometric field. Past experience is required. Computer technology and trouble shooting skills are required due to this position relying heavily on the use of computers and computer based ophthalmic instruments Optometric Clinical Technician Responsibilities Include:... Responsible for assisting in the efficiency of patient flow from check in to check out Conducting patient pretesting such as: Auto refraction Intraocular pressure measurement Visual Acuities Color Vision Testing Stereo Vision Testing Blood Pressure Measurement Height and Weight Measurements Medical history taking and entry into electronic health records with efficiency and accuracy Administration of diagnostic pharmaceutical agents as directed by the doctor Patient Education on topics related to ocular health (cataracts, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, etc.) Outside medical practice correspondence (referrals, reports, etc.) Prescription prior authorizations Setting up and conducting special testing (with doctor assistance as needed) such as: Visual Fields Fundus Photos OCT imaging Scheduling appointments for patients Taking inventory and ordering supplies Opening and closing of optometric special testing and exam rooms Helping to maintain a clean and sanitary medical environment On the job training for other potential responsibilities and growth within the practice.
