It saddens us to inform those interested that the previous owner, Wendell Hunter, known to most as "Ike", passed away recently. His memorial will be June 2 at the Congregational Church in Newell at 2 pm. His was a relative and friend to the current staff and left us quite a legacy. RIP Ike.

We would like to let everyone know that we have just started making our skinless brats! Same recipe without the casing. Only plain pork so far, but give us time and we will expand the options. We are trying to keep our smoked baby back ribs on hand by smoking every Friday but their popularity is keeping them moving. Not to mention of course, it is grill season and we work overtime to keep up with the wonderful pork burger patties! If you are planning on a large order, please call us (712) 272-4416 ahead of time so we can have enough on hand. We would like to keep everyone happy!

Just a gentle reminder to our custom butcher customers: we like to work for you and do everything we can to keep business flowing smoothly between the scheduling, the cooler space, our ability to process and freezer space. It is a fine balance you are probably not aware of but crucial to covering our expenses. When you get the call that your meat is ready, please arrange o have someone pick it up if you aren't available so we can keep putting the next work somewhere in the freezer. Boxing it to get the trays takes away from cutting time up front and still needs to be stacked some place with the others that haven't been in yet. It gets complicated, so we do hope you understand when we push you to get it home so we can keep working! Thanks.
