While the governor has announced that museums may reopen May 22, the Historical Society of Marshall County sites will NOT be open to the general public at this time. Our sites and materials are unable to be sanitized properly without damage, and as our mission is to preserve history we will not be risking either the collections nor our patrons' health. In the meantime, I am still here to accept donations and helping with research by phone and email, so please reach out- Stay safe and I miss you all! Michelle (The boy and goat photo has nothing to do with this post, but it cracks me up!)

Happy National Nurses Day, Marshall County! For many years, Marshalltown was home to two dedicated nursing school/hospitals, St. Thomas Mercy and Deaconess Evangelical.
