"If you are searching for a gym in Waukee or WDM STOP NOW! I rarely leave reviews, but this place has become such a bright spot in my week. For the first time in my life I look forward to working out. The classes are always challenging, but in the best way possible. The different seasons keep things exciting and I’m never bored. The real selling point of Krave is the atmosphere of the gym. The owners, Amber and Tyler, have created such a positive vibe in the gym and always hi...re the best coaches. Also, a big shout out to Coach Zach Vaness. He is a great coach and I’m currently doing nutrition with him. The goal here isn’t to strictly lose weight, but to live a healthy lifestyle... mentally and physically. I could go on for hours about this place, but do yourself a favor and try out a few classes. You won’t be disappointed." Don't believe Tony? "You know those athletes who show up and give it 100% EVERY. SINGLE.SESSION?? That is this guy Austin Postier...and he TOTALLY deserves an Athlete of the Week shoutout! Every time he trains with the TEAM, he shows the work ethic & discipline that was instilled in him being a college football player.....it is so fun coaching him!" Coach Amber KG: Why did you come to Krave? AP: I came to Krave because I was missing the team element during my workouts and I was ready for somethi...ng new! KG: What is your favorite part about being a Krave athlete? AP: My favorite part about being a Krave is definitely the Krave community. I've met some great people since joining and we love to push each other. KG: What is your favorite element of training and why? (ie strength, agility, endurance or striking) AP: As much as I love lifting, my favorite element is definitely endurance season. "I have been in and around different types gyms from before I was a freshman in high school. The majority have been a large space with an assortment of free weights and machines. These gyms were fine for what they were. However, Krave Gym is NOT one of those gyms. Krave was designed to build a culture around their gym so that it wasn't just a place to lift weights but a place to meet friends and improve together. If your desire is to lift weights on your own or with a friend ...then leave, you can. If your desire is to get back into shape or simply lose a few pounds, their coaches have an incredible amount of knowledge about nutrition. If your a former athlete who's tired of the monotony of working out alone and want to challenge yourself, you can. The TEAM sessions are design to push the limits of any level of participant, you go as hard as you are capable and the results will come. Krave is more than a gym, it's a community that I couldn't recommend strongly enough to anyone who wants to better themselves.. Don't take my word for it, they offer one free trial class, get in there and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed." -- Krave Athlete Jordan H. #kravegym #trainlikeanathlete #athletemindset #neversettle #findyourprime #athletelife

HOW MANY REPS SHOULD I BE DOING?? We get asked this question all of the time! On this episode of the Krave Podcast we talk about REP RANGES and why we periodize our program to give our Athletes THE BEST RESULTS!!!! "Studies that compared mixed rep ranges to singular ranges showed significant differences. Athletes who performed a variety of different rep ranges in their training had significantly better increases in strength and hypertrophy [4]... This phenomenon is partly explained by the novelty of the training stimulus. The more athletes expose their body to the same stimulus, the less effective it becomes. Venturing outside of your normal rep range helps to provide a novel stimulus. This break from the norm also re-sensitizes the system to the rep range you are used to training in which leads to better adaptations & performance over time." WHO IS NEXT?!?!? #transformationtuesday 09/01: 200lbs 11/01: 185lbs 02/01: 170lbs ... Read what Krave Athlete Phi has to say "Took me 2 years to write a review of Krave.....why? I’m not easily impressed, not the type to leave reviews, and I don’t share my personal life much (especially on Social Media). But since the owners are little great and asked me so nicely...I’ll keep my list of reasons as short as possible on why I recommend Krave: -Atmosphere: Everyone is there to better themselves and get through this workout together as a team. LOSE your EGO and THEN you can start making GAINZ. The more you focus on others, the more you lose focus on yourself. - Time: Only 3 training sessions per week for an hr is all you need. That’s 1.7% of your time. Fairly common saying applies: quality not quantity. Against popular belief, I hate spending a lot of time in the gym. - Realistic nutrition advice: I ate 0 salads, no fad diets, plenty of carbs. I pretty much ate what I wanted but learned how to do it under control. The pic shown was the last 5 months of cutting 30lbs while maintaining muscle mass. Took my time. Finally took nutrition seriously, but it’s NOT one of my goals to have an unhealthy body fat %. - Coaching. I’m not going to list every coach to give a shout-out, but they are doing God’s work. To have the patience...to be in a career that helps people...but most don’t want to help themselves...is a faith in humanity I could never possess. Smartass comments aside, THANK YOU KRAVE GYM!!" Thank YOU Phi for showing up and bettering yourself everyday. We love having you on the Krave TEAM! Stop just thinking about it and see for yourself why Krave is for YOU kravegym.com or DM us!
