Morihei Ueshiba, master martial artist and brilliant, late founder of Aikido with wise words here ... in a book I’m writing around the ‘sacredness in being a spiritual warrior’ there are numerous quotes from him. My initial contact with his illuminating teachings came through his inspirational book ’The Art of Peace’ translated and edited by John Stevens, available online in several formats.

We pray healing and comfort for those who are being targeted in the Asian American communities in this nation You are our brothers our sisters ....our teachers and we will stand in front of any who would harm you or those you love We stand with you and for you for all of our days grateful for what we have learned from you ~ I speak for all of us

All of us who trained at Kim’s Academy back in the day are old now. Most all of us are still alive. Go out and practice Chon-Ji. I know everyone remembers that hyung. Lol!

Daniel Betts I would drive Mr Yang Keun YU to and from Iowa State University to teach every Wednesday ....had to be 1977 ....in the State Gym on the field inside the oval running track it was filled with students in rows that covered half that field of astro turf ...must have been 300 or more ...- He had just returned from Vietnam ...he lived alone ....and had very little ...lived in a one BR ...over in Hiland Park ... This was a 5th Degree Black Belt Instructor ...who was Head of the ROK Army Demonstration Team and Police Forces in Saigon My God ...what these men gave up to come here ....how dedicated they were ...for very little in compensation and they were professional ...and the best ....and were the best teachers and we welcomed them ....drank it up We had Mr YU and Chae Sun Yi ....and Mr Kim as instructors Damn but boy howdy ....we were blessed ~ daniel See more

Heal and Strengthen Not Harm (no matter your age) Pushups .....yeah pushups ...do them slow...begin with one slow pushup ....rest and do another wait a day ....and build up .....do 3 sets of 15 slow pushups (knuckle and flat hand) ... Upper Body strengthening ...with some good hill climbing for the legs and heart Strengthen and Stretch Not that we will be the healthiest corpse when we leave here but that we would constantly be grateful for what we have been given by taking care of your body your mind your spirit you were not made to go quietly into the night live fully ....while you can with what ya got be strong medicine ....for an ailing world a strong healthy people ...with strong immune systems that is how the wealth of a nation is and should be measured ~ daniel

Mr Kim is selling the Main Academy in San Antonio TX after 50 yrs He writes: To ACTA instructors and students, ... As a result of the ongoing pandemic uncertainty, I have elected to sell and close the main Academy in San Antonio, TX effective November 23, 2020. This opportunity will allow me to manage my future finances more effectively and provide a source of savings that allow a reasonable quality of life. I will be reducing some direct responsibility's while still advising and guiding the organization. The details of how the ACTA will continue are still being worked out and more information will be shared in the coming months. I would like to personally thank all of the current and former instructors and students for their loyalty and support over the past 50 years.
