Christmas Eve can be a busy and stressful night for law enforcement officers. For the most part there is no where open to get a decent meal on this night. IGA Relief Group prepared and delivered hot meals to all of the law enforcement officers in the Des Moines Metro area. We fed over 140 Police Officers, Deputies and Dispatchers. Several volunteers came together to make this incredible event possible. [ 55 more words ] https://igareliefgroup.com/2018/01/14/christmas-eve/

On March 31st IGA Relief Group cooked supper for the residents at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown Iowa. Mike and Trace went on site at 4am to get the smoker going. It did not start out as a great day, it was cold with high winds and sleet. It took over an hour to get the smoker up to temp and get the meat smoking. We helped the Legion post out of Polk City raise funds this past Saturday. We donated and smoked about 170 pounds of pork for sandwiches. The food was sold at Elkhart Days in Elkhart Iowa. All of the money from the food sold by the Legion will go to help home bound veterans. The pork sold out in about 5 hours! It was a great day and an awesome event! Thanks to all who helped out. IGA Relief Group needs your donations. Mike and I take no money from the fund raiser. We have each spent significant money from our personal funds (Mike much more than me) to make this a reality. We do our best to be frugal and make every dollar positively impact as many people in need as possible. If you would like to donate or know someone who would, please contact me at [email protected].

IGA Relief Group has had a great summer. We kicked off the BBQ season with an event supporting New Hope Church in Adel Iowa. It was a summer kick off event to engage the community of Adel. We had a ton of fun and met some great folks!
