The State 4-H Council safely gathered in person at the Y Camp in Boone for their spring retreat! The one-day event was packed with team-building, committee ...work, and a service project. Council members spent quality time in their committees as they discussed several aspects of the upcoming Youth Conference and made final decisions regarding keynote speaker, educational workshops, service-learning, cultural showcase, and more. Members also met with their Council committees to discuss youth voice, the 4-Hers for 4-H Campaign, and outreach opportunities for the group. With spring in the air, members participated in several team building activities outdoors. The day wrapped up with a service project in partnership with the Iowa Education Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired. The project was truly a team effort as members organized, pinned, ironed, cut, and sewed 9 tactile blankets for youth across Iowa who are blind or visually impaired! Tasks were accomplished, friendships were formed, and a great day was had by all!
