Hello from Tin Bin Studio! Hope you are well! Hank says he can work and watch football at the same time! Go Packers and Chiefs! Oh, and this unfinished piece shows a "possibility" with paper clay.
Hank continues to enjoy the possibilities with paper clay. He accidentally dropped a bisque-fired paper clay vessel six feet onto the concrete floor, and it didn't crack, chip, or break into pieces. Keep tuned in as he prepares new work for his PLAC exhibit opening July 29. Thanks for looking!
Back to drawing with his fishing pole assistant ... Hank puts good drawing paper in a box and fastens torn blue painter's tape on the paper to resemble trees. Then he makes a drawing contraption out of a small fishing pole, 20 Sharpie black pens, a plastic coffee can lid, paper clips, and screws. Next he bounces the pens all over the paper leaving random, energetic-type marks. Then he removes the tape to reveal white negative spaces (without marks). The result is most likely the "start" of a landscape drawing.
Seventeen days until Christmas. Looking for a unique gift? Hank's work is available at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in the Red Door Gallery, at the Jackson (MN) Center for the Arts, and directly at 712-330-6006.
