It’s Spring, the perfect time to declutter your house and clean out your storage room and garage! Forest City City Wide Clean-up Day is this Saturday, May 8th. City Workers will pick up the debris left at the curb. Call City Hall at 641-585-3574 to arrange for pick-up and pre-pay fees by noon on May 7th. Fees: $25.00 (Small amount) $40.00 (Medium amount) $60.00 and up (Large amount). This is a fundraiser for the local Boy Scouts so all fees will go to the local troop.... CLEAN UP GUIDELINES: - All items must be separated into piles of building materials, furniture etc. - Building materials must be cut into 4ft lengths, with nails pulled, and securely tied into bundles weighing less than 45 lbs. - Unacceptable items that will not be picked up: tires, oil, paint, batteries, household chemical cleaners, trees & brush, TV’s, electronics, household appliances, stoves, refrigerators, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, water heaters, air conditioners, computers & components, etc.

City Notice: City Parking Lot Boy Scout Clean Up day is scheduled for May 8th. City workers will be delivering dumpsters to the City Parking Lot on the Corner of K and 6th Street starting June 6th. Because this lot will be used as a collection site, this lot must be clear of vehicles from May 6th through May 11th. If you normally park in this lot, please park in another location from May 6 - 11th. Please pass this message on to those who live in the downtown area and may normally park in the lot on the corner of 6th and K Street.
