Super common questions we get from homeowners include "What kinds of native plants can grow in shade?" or "What native plants are short?" Here is a great example of an Iowa native plant that is short, likes shade, has nectar for pollinators, and can even work in rain gardens!

Tiny trees are available! We particularly like their idea of river birch! These trees looks great near rain gardens and can make for a really good looking native planting to help soak up water in those wet areas in your yard!
