Get to know Suzanne Bartlett Hackenmiller: Dr. Bartlett Hackenmiller completed an integrative medicine fellowship in 2013 through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. Since 2013, she has been practicing integrative medicine through a number of different modalities, first at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids and later at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. Throughout, she has continued her practice of obstetrics and gynecology, covering Labor a...nd Delivery units in Iowa Falls and Webster City. She then moved her entire practice to Webster City from 2017 until 2020, where she practiced both integrative medicine and obstetrics and gynecology. Her comprehensive training and years of experience allow her to combine conventional medicine (pharmaceutical drugs and surgery) with evidence-based alternative and complementary approaches, ranging from nutrition and micronutrient imbalances, to the effects of stress and poor sleep, to herbal medicine, mind-body practices, and even whole medical systems such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. As we know, women’s health involves all of these things! She sees patients both in person and via telehealth at our office, Comprehensive Women’s Health and offers surgery at both Mercy One and United Medical Park. If you are interested in more information, check out her website at www.IntegrativeInitiative.com. We’d love to see you!

Ladies...Did you know that you can see me for routine gynecologic issueson your smart phonevia telehealth? I have been doing telehealth for a number of year...s, but COVID has changed the way the healthcare system views it. The American College of OB-Gyn and the American Medical Association are encouraging patients not to miss routine care during COVID, yet we know coming to the doctor’s office causes risks. These and other organizations are now encouraging telehealth where practical. Some of my patients are surprised to learn that a pap and pelvic are no longer (necessarily) recommended every year. This means that you can EVEN see me for your annual gyn visit via telehealth, we can bill your insurance company, and if we determine that you need to come in, we can arrange it. Many of my patients have been thrilled to see me this way, avoiding the need to arrange childcare or, in some cases, even take time off from work. I can see patients from anywhere in Iowa, which means I have been able to see many of my former patients from different places I have practiced! Through our very easy-to-navigate HIPAA-secure platform, I can see you for: Wellness visits (including arranging for mammograms and blood work close to your home, if necessary) Contraceptive management Menopausal symptoms Preconceptual counseling Post-operative visits A discussion about any gyn issue And, again, we can always decide if coming into the office for an exam is necessary. If this interests you, call Comprehensive Women's Health to schedule: (319) 486-1731. We’ll walk you through it!
