TRANSPORTATION SURVEY FOR BENTON, IOWA, JOHNSON, JONES, LINN, AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES: East Central Iowa Council of Governments wants to hear from you, whether your currently use passenger transportation or not. Use this link to access the survey: https://talkto.ecicog.org/ptp until Feb. 1, 2021. Responses are fully confidential and greatly appreciated! Our areas Regional Planning Affiliation, East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG) is working on a five-year Pass...enger Transportation Plan (PTP). The PTP helps determine what passenger transportation will look like in Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, and Washington Counties from 2021-2025. The PTP is an important process to understand what people in eastern Iowa want for public transportation in the future, and how the current transit services can be improved, said Brock Grenis, Transit Administrator / Planner. Getting public input is the best way we can make sure the PTP is accurate and that future investments in transit services are what people want and need. Passenger transportation can include: Public transit; Taxi/transportation networks (Uber & Lyft); Volunteer driver programs; Non-emergency medical transportation; and other related services. The PTP aims to bring light to unmet needs, improve Iowans’ transportation services and justify future investments. This plan covers 2021-2025 for the non-metropolitan areas of the counties. If you have questions about ECICOG or the survey please contact: Brock Grenis, Planner/Transit Administrator, at [email protected] or 319-289-0070, or Brittany Rempe, Communications Specialist, at [email protected] or 319-289-0076.
